USD 4.00

Want to teach about the New Year Celebrations Around the World? In this resource, your students will learn about New Year in the United States, Japan, Mexico, China, England, Greece, France, Brazil and the Phillippines. Students will learn through factual information, photographs, read alouds, and videos.

Students will then build prior knowledge and make connections to New Year celebrations. Students will then be presented with content-specific vocabulary for navigating the New Year Celebrations. Students will then learn about each of the countries listed above. Information about each holiday is accompanied by either a photograph, read aloud, or video to further illustrate or explain the information. A comprehension check is offered at the end of the Virtual Field Trip.

-Listen to a Read Aloud about the Night Before New Year

-Watch a video from PBS Kids All About Kwanzaa

-Learn how to make Vasilopita

-Learn how to make King’s Cake

-Watch New Years Fireworks Display in London

-Watch a video from the History Channel about Chinese New Year

-And more!

There are also three final projects you can have students complete. One is a Venn diagram comparing two of the New Year Celebrations, writing their favorite memory and three resolutions and the other project is for students to draw a picture of their favorite New Year Tradition.
