Your students will then hop on board a flight to JFK airport. While in flight— you can teach your students some important vocabulary and listen to a read aloud of Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet. Students will then touchdown at JFK.

Students will then see a short Welcome to NYC video, compare Macy’s Herald Square then and now, and take a look at the Wondertown Windows. Students will then have an opportunity to make their own Wondertown Windows.

Students will also explore some additional history, behind the scenes of the parade and create their very own balloon!

Teachers are saying:

"This is the BEST thing to do the day before Thanksgiving break. I bought it that morning when I quickly realized (first year teacher here) that my students were WIRED and no real content would be successfully taught that day. lol. It was low prep, engaging, and I even loved learning about it!"
