Elephant loves music class and playing her French horn. Elephant’s teacher announces their class will be performing at the school recital. Elephant is terrified for her solo! Elephant will have to find a way to shine in her own way! This story reminds me of “Giraffe’s Can’t Dance” and would be a great pair of books to read to Kinder or PreK!
All Are Neighbors is the newest Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman (creators of “All Are Welcome”) release! It’s such a beautiful look at the diversity and beauty of communities. This is a great book to share with kiddos in the beginning of the year when building a community but can also be used as part of a social studies community unit!

Yeti has such a great day taking on new challenges that when the bell rings at the end of the day.. he’s not quite ready to leave.. yet. In the story, Mirha, is excited for her first day of school. She could not wait to learn, play, and make new friends. Mirha proudly introduced herself to her class. As the day went on, Mirha sadly realized that her classmates and some of her teachers were mispronouncing her name. A classmate even declared Mirha as Maya. Mirha started to question her name and whether or not she would be able to make friends. Mirha’s mother shared with Mirha just how special her name is! You’ll have to read to find out just how Mirha handles her classmates, but you’ll definitely be proud!
Amy’s class has a new student from China named Lin who Amy is eager to welcome. Amy is unsure if her welcoming attempts have worked, Amy invites Lin and his family over for some dumplings and seeks the help of her Grandmother to make a welcome banner for Lin. Amy learns to say welcome in Lin’s language but is shy to say welcome when Lin and his family arrives. Will Amy ultimately welcome Lin by the end of the story! You’ll have to read to find out!
Camila’s class has a trip tp the aquarium and Camila is worried— all week she worries about what could go wrong. It’s not until Camila finds another worried classmate of hers that she realizes her heart is bigger than her fears and together instead of what if and I cant they try.
All of the primary and secondary colors are getting ready for the rainbow extravaganza when Pink comes along. Pink knows she’s not in the rainbow but had never really put much thought into it until now. Pink begins to question her value and if she’s even a color at all. With some help from another non-rainbow color, Pink is reminded she’s one of kind and that she’s part of sunrises and sunsets, that she’s one of the first colors we see each day as well as one of the last. Pink is proud of who she is and how she’s a happy color and happiness is for everyone.
