It’s Fall Books Y’all!

October might be one of my favorite months for picture books. (October and December, really!) There’s so many fun themes to play around with in October! There’s Diwali, Halloween and a few days into November there’s Dia De Los Muertos. I am excited to share some of my favorite books for Fall with you!

The Leaf Thief

The Leaf Thief is the cutest story about a squirrel who notices some of his leaves have gone missing– someone must have stolen them. It had to be a leaf thief! You’ll have to read to find where all the leaves have gone!

Also- very excited to share The Leaf Thief: Book Companion and Craft.  There are tons of activities to go along with a book and a fun craft that your students or children can complete after a nature walk! Click here to grab your free copy!

A Very Big Fall

Another adorable story (new release August 2022), where squirrels are warning the leaves of bigger changes to come in the Fall. New colors and a very big fall is to come. You’ll have to read to learn how Oak, Birch and Maple are feeling about all of the Fall changes.

Excited to share another freebie with you! At the end of the story, the little girl is decorating the Oak, Birch, and Maple. Birch becomes a pirate. In this resource, your kiddos can decorate their own leaves they collect, or some cute clipart leaves. Click here for this Freebie!

Always Everly

Everyly is an evergreen tree. It’s Fall and all of her friends are changing into many different beautiful colors… everyone but Everly. Everly doesn't understand why she can’t change for the season too. With the help of her friends, Everly realizes just how special she is.

Tap the Magic Tree

I absolutely adore Tap the Magic Tree and loved making it interactive with my preschool students. You follow the magic tree through the seasons, from winter.. You tap the tree to add leaves, buds, and flowers, give the tree a little jiggle and the petals fall down. You pat the leaves and the change colors and blow a whooshing breeze and they all fall down. There’s tons of opportunity for acting out the story and movement!

All four of these books have a fun and unique take on Fall that your kiddos will love! What other books are perfect for teaching about trees, leaves, and the seasonal changes?
