Halloween Books for the Whole Family!
The choices for incredible Halloween books is truly endless! I wanted to share some of my favorites with all of you and it was nearly impossible to choose just a few. Instead, I figured I would share some of my favorites that I read with my students by age! That way, no matter how old your students or kiddos are, you can find the perfect Halloween books for your library!
Board Books
Two new releases for Halloween your kiddos will love: Halloween is a Treat bu Sabrina and Eunice Moyle from Hello Lucky Kids! and Construction Site Gets a Fright! We also love How to Catch a Witch, Trick or Treat Countdown, and not necessarily but shortly there after— The Day of the Dead a Bilingual Book!
Preschool Books
My Favorites for our preschool friends include Spookley the Square Pumpkin! One of our favorite activities was making our own shape pumpkins in the library! We also love: How to Catch a Witch, Click, Clack, Boo! Alpha Oops!, Pete the Cat Trick or Treat, and Franklin’s Halloween!
K-1 Picture Books
My all-time favorite Halloween books for K-2 are The Halloweiner and The Good, The Bad, and the Spooky! My kiddos had a BLAST decorating the Bad Seed Up for Halloween! (Grab a copy of that activity, here!)
2-4 Picture Books
Last year was a big year for Halloween books! We adore Hardly Haunted and Monster Trouble. We also love Boo Stew, Looking for a Jumbie, How to Make Friends with a Ghost, and Halloween Is! One of my student’s favorite activities after reading Hardly Haunted was to build their own haunted house using Krista Wallden’s Resource, linking it here!
Grade 5 & Up Books
Two releases last year from Quarto Kids, that were all the rage with my kiddos last year (not just at Halloween-time) were A Natural History of Magick and Young Oracle Tarot!
I would love to hear which books you would add to these lists! Comment below.
